Light Up a Life
The Spartanburg Regional Hospice Light Up a Life campaign gives individuals a special means of remembering family and friends. For donations made to the Light Up a Life campaign, Spartanburg Regional Hospice will place a light on its Tree of Memory.
A tree-lighting ceremony will be held during the holiday season to honor or remember these special people. Since 1980, Regional Hospice has served as your hospice, providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients and families. This year a long held dream was realized, as our services expanded to include the Regional Hospice Home.
Regional Hospice serves a diversity of patients in Spartanburg, Union, Greenville and Cherokee counties. Our patients have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, and have a life expectancy of six months or less. Many hospice patients actually live longer after receiving our care.
The SRHS Foundation Hospice Division raises funds by sponsoring special events to help cover costs not reimbursed to Regional Hospice by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. These funds directly benefit the patients, families and our community. Funds from our events are deposited into our Special Needs Hospice account. This money is used to give peace of mind, support and comfort to our hospice patients and their families through payment of medications, assistance with utility bills, purchase of nutritional supplements and groceries, providing linens and delivering warm meals at Easter and Thanksgiving holidays. These funds also enhance the overall Regional Hospice program in areas such as community outreach and volunteer and staff training, support and education.
