Gibbs Cancer Center formed an alliance with M. D. Anderson Physicians Network, further enhancing the level of cancer care available to patients in the Upstate of South Carolina. Spartanburg Regional is the only healthcare system in South Carolina to have an alliance with M. D. Anderson Physicians Network.

Because of the leading-edge care Gibbs Cancer Center already provides, M. D. Anderson Physicians Network - a subsidiary of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center - selected Gibbs Cancer Center as an ally in the fight against cancer.

In 2008, U.S. News and World Report named The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center number one in cancer care, in the U.S.

Eligible patients have access to M. D. Anderson’s clinical care guidelines while receiving treatment right here in the Upstate. In addition to offering comprehensive cancer services, Gibbs Cancer Center brings new hope to local cancer patients by using treatment guidelines developed by the nation’s leader in cancer care.

Gibbs Cancer Center physicians were credentialed by M. D. Anderson Physicians Network.  Gibbs Cancer Center has undergone a rigorous review of standards and practices to ensure it meets M. D. Anderson’s standards of care. Participating physicians went through a lengthy credentialing process, including an assessment of the physicians’ office practices and a medical record review.
