Lung Cancer Care Program
A diagnosis of lung cancer can be devastating to both the patient and the family. The time following the diagnosis can be overwhelming with a confusing maze of physicians, appointments and procedures. The Gibbs Cancer Center's Lung Cancer Care Program helps the patient and their family navigate their way through treatment.
The program is led by a registered nurse who specializes in the care of lung cancer patients. The Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist provides the patient and family with education, support and coordination of care. This nurse coordinator supports the patient through every step in their fight against cancer and works hand-in-hand with physicians to ensure the needs of the patient and family are met.
