Freshstart Smoking Cessation

Research indicates 70 percent of smokers want to quit. Support and education can help make this a reality. Freshstart classes address the variety of reasons people smoke: physical addiction, habit and psychological dependency. Quitting smoking quickly is the main goal of Freshstart, maintained by techniques and support to keep a smoker off cigarettes.

Gibbs Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to offer Freshstart Smoking Cessation Classes. As a participant of Freshstart, you will receive printed information, the advice of a skilled facilitator and support from a group of others interested in quitting smoking.

Facilitators have been trained in evaluating individual smoking patterns, introducing behavior modification techniques, leading group discussions and minimizing relapse.

Freshstart makes maximum use of the smoker’s time. The format is convenient for most people’s schedules, with four one-hour sessions. Participants should plan to attend each session to get the maximum benefit.
