Support Groups
A diagnosis of cancer can affect every area of a person's life. It can even profoundly influence the lives of family members and loved ones. As a result, emotional support often becomes as important to patients and their families as their medical team. A variety of support groups and educational programs provide resources for recovery and emotional healing. Several support groups, many of which are disease specific, are available to adults with cancer and to their families. These groups help identify positive ways of dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
