Your heart is in your hands
Not only are men and women different, their heart healthcare needs can be very different as well. The need for a gender-sensitive approach to cardiology is underscored by the growing body of research that reveals an under-diagnosis of heart disease in women, as well as variations in symptoms and treatment. For example, in addition to many of the classic symptoms of a heart attack, women often also experience shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting and back or jaw pain.
As a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, Spartanburg Regional is pleased to offer the HeartCaring program to empower women with knowledge and tools to reduce their risks for heart disease. The physicians at the practices listed below have been trained in HeartCaring and are committed to a gender-specific approach. We encourage you to contact one of these physicians or your own physician to discuss your risks and concerns regarding cardiovascular health. Take action now to protect your heart!
