What is the Joe R. Utley Heart Resource Center?

Located in the lobby of the Heart Center, the Joe R. Utley Heart Resource Center provides consistent access to diverse educational opportunities. Customized plans are created to meet the needs of clients. Presentations are available to community groups and tailored to the needs of the audience (church groups, schools, etc.). The center, open Monday through Friday, is a true resource to deliver the information needed about heart health and risk reduction behaviors.

Recognizing the growing need for heart disease prevention, the Joe R. Utley Heart Resource Center provides reliable, accessible education and support to clients with the goal of improving overall heart health. Problem-specific education aimed at developing healthy lifestyles and improving quality of life is offered for patients, their families and community members. The Joe R. Utley Heart Resource Center is completely supported by private donations through the Spartanburg Regional Foundation. Funds are used for educational materials, screening supplies, staffing community outreach, equipment and more.
