R. Barry Hird, M.D.
Dr. Hird received his medical degree from Wayne State University and completed his surgical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a breast cancer fellowship at the University of Michigan Cancer Center.
Dr. Hird has an active general surgery practice, performing complex hernia repairs and laparoscopic gallbladder removal. He specializes in surgical treatment of the breast. Dr. Hird is board certified in general surgery.
Christophe Nguyen, M.D.
Dr. Nguyen received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Dr. Nguyen specializes in treating patients with lung cancer (including using video-assisted techniques), esophageal, pancreatic and liver cancers.
Dr. Nguyen is the first surgeon in South Carolina to successfully complete a pulmonary lobectomy, pneumonectomy, splenectomy and partial hepatic lobectomy using the da Vinci® robotic system. Dr. Nguyen is board certified in general surgery.
Richard Orr, M.D.
Dr. Orr received his medical degree from the University of South Florida and completed his surgical residency at the University of South Florida Affiliated Hospitals. He completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Orr has extensive experience treating most types of solid tumors, including melanoma, breast and thyroid cancers. He is especially interested in two less common areas: gastroesophageal malignancies and adrenal masses. Dr. Orr is board certified in general surgery.
