Why we need your support

As a nonprofit agency, Regional Hospice has a policy of serving all eligible persons, regardless of the ability to pay for care. For patients who have no health insurance, a financial assessment is completed to determine ability to pay and to establish a payment schedule.

The Hospice Medicare Benefit and the Hospice Medicaid Benefit provide comprehensive coverage for services related to a life-limiting illness, and most of these charges are covered at 100 percent for the patient. Most private insurers also provide coverage for hospice care. However, the reimbursement received by Regional Hospice from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance does not fully cover the cost of care provided by Regional Hospice.

How you can help

The Hospice Division of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System raises funds – which directly benefit patients, families and the community – by sponsoring special events throughout the year and by receiving your generous support.

Gathering with loved ones at the holidays is an important way for those who are terminally ill to live their final days to the fullest. However, for many of our patients and their families, preparing a meal can be difficult. For this reason, Regional Hospice has joined with Wade's Restaurant for the past 10 years to provide special Easter and Thanksgiving dinners for our patients to share with their loved ones. This extra special touch has proven to be of great comfort to grieving families. You can help Regional Hospice provide these meals by designating your $55 gift to "Hospice Holiday Meals."
