Breast Health and Bone Density
Spartanburg Regional is committed to the health of women in our community. We offer a variety of services designed to help women at every stage of life.
Mammography
We encourage all women to have regular mammography screenings and perform monthly self-exams. To make screenings convenient, mammography services are available at the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, the Village at Pelham and the Woman's Clinic.
Breast Health Program
The Breast Health Program is a free resource for women who have been diagnosed with, or are at risk for, breast cancer. Breast Health Specialists guide women through every stage of breast cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, recovery and follow-up. Participants have access to clinical trials and the most current treatments available.
Bone Density Monitoring
More than 25 million Americans are afflicted with osteoporosis each year, and 80 percent of those are women. It is called the “silent disease” because signs of bone weakness often go undetected until a significant amount of bone has already been lost.
The bone densitometer uses small amounts of X-ray to measure the amount of bone left in the body. This relates directly to a person’s bone strength. Through early detection, exercise, diet, hormone therapy or other medicines, the risk of osteoporosis is greatly reduced. For more information, call 864-560-6186.
