Spirit of Women
The Spirit of Women hospital network is a coalition of hospitals and healthcare facilities in more than 60 U.S. cities who are committed to women’s health. Spartanburg Regional is proud to be one of them. We provide programs to educate women in the community on health topics such as cancer, menopause, osteoporosis, heart disease, pregnancy, hormones and much more. Plus, we combine these programs with fun entertainment components as well to touch on every aspect of your life.

Premier Hospital
Spirit of Women Health Network has selected Spartanburg Regional as a Spirit of Women Premier Hospital, based on an evaluation using the National Standards of Excellence in Women’s Health which measure excellence in women’s healthcare and community outreach.
The Standards were developed by Spirit of Women Health Network in educational consultation with the Office of Women’s Health as part of the Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS).
As part of a comprehensive evaluation process, Spartanburg Regional demonstrated innovation and excellence in women’s programming across the board and earned the designation as a Premier Hospital meeting or exceeding at least 80 percent of the Standards.
The National Standards of Excellence in Women’s Health require focus on women-centered care, call-to-action education, and access to care in the following seven areas:
- Integration of a Focused Community Assessment
- Implementation of Comprehensive Life Stage Programming
- Sensitivity to Community Diversity and Cultural Differences
- Strategic Alignment of Women’s Service Lines
- Leading Innovation and Outreach Initiatives
- Managing a Process for Quality Improvement
- Multidisciplinary Approach to Care
