      <title>Hangar B Ball to entertain, raise funds for heart health</title>
      <description>&lt;div class=ExternalClass8564D78DCDBE470DBE6243B4FE881952&gt;&lt;p&gt;Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation announces that Party on the Moon will be headlining this year’s Hangar B Ball on October 1.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Party on the Moon has performed with artists such as Lynyrd Skynard, Three Dog Night, Bob Seger and Journey, and performed in January at President Obama’s Inaugural Ball.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Music by Party on the Moon along with Hornz Unlimited, their talented brass section, will have attendees dancing the night away after the event’s barbecue dinner.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>SRHS Foundation Board welcomes new members</title>

&lt;p&gt;The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation recently welcomed a number of new members to its Board of Trustees.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These recent additions will use their passion for excellent healthcare and influence in the community to help significantly impact the SRHS Foundation and Spartanburg community, officials said. The Foundation Board is divided into four groups. In addition to the 18-member board, the Foundation is supported by Cancer, Heart, and Hospice divisions which seek to the support the operations within each of those clinical areas. The board serves as a governing body of the Foundation, and members each operate on a four-year rotation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Members are chosen for their passion towards healthcare, influence in the community, and availability of time and energy to work with the Foundation, and serve as ambassadors to the community, providing information to the hospital about the community’s needs and concerns, said Dr. Sheila Breitweiser, Vice President and Executive Director of the SRHS Foundation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“All members of the Board of Trustees, the Heart, Cancer, and Hospice Boards help to support capital projects and have the ability to significantly impact the community and hospital programs,” said Dr. Sheila Breitweiser, SRHS Vice President and Foundation Executive Director.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Members also donate their own funds and time to create the strong leadership the hospital needs to&lt;br&gt;
succeed. Votes are taken amongst board members to determine how Foundation funds would best be used in the community.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Our community is blessed with a great number of giving people,” said Board president Normal Pulliam. “We are even more privileged in this region we serve to have talented individuals who not only give of their resources but also give of themselves and their time.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Spartanburg Regional is currently in the top division of healthcare and technology across the nation and we want to continue to keep that status, Breitweiser said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Having diverse, influential board members who can impact our hospital and our community is an important step towards that goal,” she said.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Laugh for a Child event to benefit Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg</title>
      <description>&lt;div class=ExternalClassB0AFFC22CD85402B9456A93DBE34C8FE&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg will be holding its annual fundraiser, Laugh for a Child, on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.  The event features a night of comedy for a good cause: helping children in our community get the dental care that they desperately need.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A VIP/Sponsor Party will start at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Auditorium followed by a performance of comedian Al Ernst at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium Arena.  VIP tickets are $75 per person and include heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. General Admission tickets are $35. There is a special rate for General Admission tickets of $50 per couple until February 13, 2009.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Al Ernst, an Atlanta native, has spent that the last eleven years as an opening act in everything from a gas station to Carnival Cruise Lines.  He’s done local cable access TV in Dallas, professional wrestling announcing in Georgia, and even hosted his own show, “A View from the Cheap Seats.”  His TV credits include all major networks as well as CNN, ESPN, A&amp;amp;E, Comedy Central and HBO.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Healthy Smiles first began serving children in a “free clinic” setting in March 2007, on the campus of Spartanburg Community College. Healthy Smiles has served over 350 children from Spartanburg County with direct dental services “free of charge” valuing over $200,000. Healthy Smiles funds are provided by Foundations, corporate gifts, fundraisers, United Way of the Piedmont, in-kind services, and individuals like you.&lt;/p&gt;

<p>Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg will be holding its annual fundraiser, Laugh for a Child, on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.  The event features a night of comedy for a good cause: helping children in our community get the dental care that they desperately need.</p>
<p>A VIP/Sponsor Party will start at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Auditorium followed by a performance of comedian Al Ernst at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium Arena.  VIP tickets are $75 per person and include heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. General Admission tickets are $35. There is a special rate for General Admission tickets of $50 per couple until February 13, 2009.</p>
<p>Al Ernst, an Atlanta native, has spent that the last eleven years as an opening act in everything from a gas station to Carnival Cruise Lines.  He’s done local cable access TV in Dallas, professional wrestling announcing in Georgia, and even hosted his own show, “A View from the Cheap Seats.”  His TV credits include all major networks as well as CNN, ESPN, A&amp;E, Comedy Central and HBO.  </p>
<p>Healthy Smiles first began serving children in a “free clinic” setting in March 2007, on the campus of Spartanburg Community College. Healthy Smiles has served over 350 children from Spartanburg County with direct dental services “free of charge” valuing over $200,000. Healthy Smiles funds are provided by Foundations, corporate gifts, fundraisers, United Way of the Piedmont, in-kind services, and individuals like you.</p>

&lt;p&gt;Best known for their singles “Reminiscing,” “Lady,” and “Lonesome Loser” the Australian born Little River Band has entertained millions of fans for more than 30 years. Known as one of the finest soft-rock bands in the world, they've sold close to 25 million copies of their records, and scored an incredible 13 Top 10 singles.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Later, the Catalina’s blend of beach music, disco, rock and soul will have you on the dance floor for the rest of the night.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The event is held in an empty airplane hangar at the Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport from 6 – 10:30 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;
