Proceeds from the sale of items in our gift shop support the treatment and research efforts of Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health and Gibbs Cancer Center, a nationally recognized cancer treatment and research facility located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. 

Keep abreast of advances in screening, diagnosis and treatment.

Because awareness can a tremendous difference in breast cancer survival, Bearden-Josey regularly takes our education, awareness and screening programs out into the community, as well as invites the community into our facility. Available resources include:

  • Free breast health awareness programs can be presented anywhere from churches to libraries, meetings of clubs and civic organizations to employer-sponsored health fairs. If your group would like to schedule a program, please call 864-560-6747.
  • Meeting rooms at Bearden-Josey are available at no charge for use by local clubs and organizations. To check the schedule or make a reservation, please call 864-560-6747.
  • Continuing Education programs help equip area medical professionals to provide their own patients with the most attentive care and referrals. Check the schedule here.
  • Cancer Learning Center library and media center offers the latest information on breast cancer and treatments, and its staff is always available to help you find what you need.
  • Center for Integrative Medicine uses spa-like techniques and therapies to help reduce stress, tension and anxiety. Services are available for patients and the public alike.
  • Energy for Life creates effective rehabilitation programs through physical and creative therapies.
  • High Risk Breast Clinic helps women who run a greater than normal risk of developing breast cancer understand the facts in their own personal situation, learn specific techniques to reduce their risks, and get access to screenings, treatments, tests and tools that protect their health. In addition, it offers resources to ease emotional, social and family pressures, ranging from support groups and massage therapy to genetic counseling and clinical research trials.
