Falls Prevention - Don't Meet Us by Accident

Don’t Meet Us by Accident

In case of a trauma accident, call 9-1-1.

Did you know that the number one cause of death and disability in people under 44 years is not cancer or heart-related conditions? It is trauma.

For many trauma centers, summer is termed as “trauma season”. Longer summer days mean more time on the road, whether driving or biking, or on the water boating or tubing. Spartanburg Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center team wants you to know we are here for you and can provide life-saving traumatic care. But we prefer that you don’t meet us by accident. As Spartanburg’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, we are dedicated to reducing the number of injuries in our community through education and awareness. We encourage you to share these resources and essential safety messages with family and friends to help keep them safe.

Awareness & Prevention

Injury prevention has become a large part of trauma care. Some of the most common causes of severe, life threatening injuries are also preventable. Educating yourself about ways to avoid or prevent motor vehicle crashes, water-related accidents, falls, biking injuries and more is one of the greatest ways to stay safe.
