Grilled Peaches with Chocolate and Almonds
Meal: Dessert; Serves: 6; Portion Size: Half a peach, 1 tablespoon chocolate sauce, 2 teaspoons of toasted almonds; Prep: 10 minutes; Cook Time: 10 minutes
3 medium-sized peaches
1-1/2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 ounce heavy whipping cream
4 tablespoons sliced almonds, toasted
1/3 tablespoon olive/canola oil, 90/10 blend
Cut the peaches in half and toss with olive oil. On a preheated grill, place peaches over medium high heat until browned and heated through, about 5 minutes total. Alternatively, peaches may be sliced and sautéed in a nonstick pan over medium high heat.
Meanwhile, bring cream just to a boil and stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Set aside. Serve immediately.
Portion size: 1/2 peach, 1 tbsp chocolate sauce, 2 tsp toasted almonds.
