Spartanburg Regional Resident Moonlighting Opportunities

  1. All Residents wishing to moonlight have to get the approval of the Administrative Director of Medical Education, Program Director, and Advisor.
  2. Opportunities for moonlighting at SRHS include Restorative Care, Minor Care and Geri-Psychiatric Unit.
  3. Family Medicine Residents starting in their second year of residency can work at either Restorative Care, Minor Care or providing medical consults to the adult and geri-psychiatric units at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Requirements for Moonlighting

  1. US medical school graduate, or completion of 3 years of residency
  2. Must have a Permanent SC License
  3. Credentialed with Restorative Care, only if working at Restorative
  4. Signed Contract with MGC only if working in the Minor Cares
  5. Approval from the Administrative Director of Medical Education, Program Director, and Advisor.

Moonlighting Programs

Restorative Care

  1. Residents must be credentialed at Restorative Care.
  2. All Malpractice will be covered by SRHS and residents will not be responsible for any tail coverage.
  3. Residents work at Restorative Care from 9PM to 7AM everyday of the week.
  4. Hourly wage will be $50 on the weekdays and $55 on the weekends.
  5. The Family Medicine Chief Residents are responsible for appointing the scheduling resident who schedules all shifts and makes sure all shifts are covered. They will be paid $300 a month for this service.

Minor Care

  1. No credentialing is required at SRHS. Each individual Resident will have to sign a contract with RPN.
  2. All Malpractice will be covered by SRHS and residents will not be responsible for any tail.
  3. Family Medicine Residents at Spartanburg Regional will be on call for Westside and Pelham Minor Cares.
  4. The residents will be called in by an attending if the patient wait time becomes excessive.
  5. Residents will work side by side with the attending; never working alone.
  6. Call times will be M-F 5PM to 10PM; Sat & Sun 8AM to 5PM.Holiday schedules will be announced.
  7. Residents will be paid for being on call the equivalent of one hour of work whether they get call in or not.
  8. If residents are called in, it will be for a minimum of 2 hours of work.
  9. Hourly wage will be $60 on the weekdays and $65 on the weekends.

Psychiatry

  1. Residents must be credentialed at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
  2. All Malpractice will be covered by SRHS and residents will not be responsible for any tail.
  3. Family Medicine Residents will be on call for adult and geriatric psychiatry units.
  4. The resident will provide medical consultation on new patients and provide follow up consultation for medical management on any in-patients.
  5. The resident will be paid an hourly wage of $50 on the weekends and $55 on the weekdays, and also bill RVU’s for services rendered for which they will be reimbursed.
