Mobile Mammography

Spartanburg Regional’s mobile mammography unit performs mammograms across Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties. Call 864-560-7777 to register and make sure to bring your insurance card and identification to your appointment.

Keeping Mind Body Connections: Brainwave Optimization

Learn about the Center for Health and Healing’s new wellness service – Brainwave Optimization – a non-invasive technology that helps the brain balance itself for optimal performance. Mind Body Skills Group

Thursdays, Feb. 5 – March 26

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health Education Room

The Mind-Body Skills Group is an eight-week program where participants learn to use a range of tools for self-care and stress management including meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback and autogenic training, breathing, movement and mindful eating as well as self-expression through words and drawings. Tuition is $300, and financial assistance is available for those who qualify. The Mind Body Skills Group includes a 30-minute private interview with the instructor prior to the first class. Pelham Carb Counters

This free support group, which meets the third Tuesday of every month, is intended for people currently living with diabetes or who are at high risk of developing the disease. Certified Diabetes Educators lead the discussion and answer questions. For more information, visit

Diabetes Self-Management Education

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pelham Medical Center, Medical Office Building Community Center

Diabetes affects every organ in the body and Medical Group of the Carolinas – Diabetes and Endocrinology – Pelham can help you learn to manage it. Participants of this program receive a free blood glucose meter and diabetes reference book. You must have a physician’s referral to participate, and insurance will be filed for the program’s cost. WomenHeart Support Group

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg

Led by a Mayo Clinic-trained facilitator, WomenHeart is a support group for women to express their feelings with a peer group that understands the emotional toll of a heart disease diagnosis. This group meets on the third Wednesday of each month and is open to any woman with a history of heart disease. Lunch will be provided. Diagnosing Cardiac Disease: What You Need to Know

Thursday, Feb. 19, 12 – 1 p.m.

Join Alejandro Lopez, M.D. and Pelham Medical Center as we share information on how cardiac disease is diagnosed and the various tests and methods used including cardiac catheterization. Better Breathers Club

Part of the American Lung Association’s Better Breather's Club, this support group is for anyone living with a chronic lung disease and their families or caregivers. The group is led by a healthcare professional who helps attendees learn how to meet the challenges chronic lung disease brings to daily life. Don’t Stop the Beat
