Pelham Medical Center, Chamber Brings Family Fun to Downtown Greer

Greer Family Fest Returns for its 31st Year

Pelham Medical Center (PMC) invites friends and families to the Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Fest Friday and Saturday, May 1-2 for health screenings, giveaways and fun activities. Events are from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

The 31st annual event will also feature more than 150 vendors, entertainment, food and activities for children such as the Creation Station and the kidsZone.

Families will be able to enjoy live music from alternative rock band Sister Hazel, known for their single “All for You” that reached number one on the charts. Local bands such as Hot As A Pepper, Splitshot and Hot Gritzz will also perform.

Health screenings during the festival will include blood pressure screenings, skin cancer screenings and “Ask a Doc” sessions. The skin cancer screenings take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the mobile mammography unit and no registration is required.

“We will provide community care and services including body mass index and blood pressure readings and an ‘Ask the Doctor’ station,” Tony Kouskolekas, President of PMC, the event’s title sponsor for the eighth straight year. “We think this is the premier festival in the Upstate.”

Medical Group of the Carolinas (MGC) practices such as Pelham Center for Women, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Surgical Services, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Orthopaedic Surgery will represent PMC during health screenings and answer questions.
