Spartanburg Regional Foundation Announces the Availability of more than $680,000 in 2015 Grant Cycle

The Spartanburg Regional Foundation has $688,119 in funding for 2015 grant awards. While the Foundation is primarily a health system foundation, funds are available to community organizations committed to the health and wellness needs of Upstate residents.

This spring, the Spartanburg Regional Foundation will fund project-specific expenses within Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s service area, including Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union Counties. The Foundation will only consider organizations recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) 3 charitable non-profit and/or tax-exempt entity.

Letters of intent will be required and accepted from February 1 to February 27. While the letters are non-binding, it is necessary to proceed in the application process.

An optional training session will be offered to help potential 2015 applicants navigate through the new online application system. This training session for community organizations will take place at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Spartanburg Headquarters Library, Barrett Community Room. Please contact grants administrator Stacey Dulin at 864-560-6827 or to RSVP.

If invited to submit a full grant proposal, the deadline to submit is April 3 at 5 p.m. Final funding decisions will be announced on June 15. Please visit the foundation website at to review the 2015 grant guidelines.

In 2014, Spartanburg Regional Foundation funded 24 grants, totaling more than $642,968. The Foundation generally does not fund endowment requests, operating expenses, on-going salary expenses, multi-year requests, recurring requests and grants to individuals or loans.
