Make Your Living Room a Doctor’s Office

Spartanburg Regional Launches New Health Service

Easier access to health care is now available through Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s new virtual health service MDLIVE. You can talk with a physician at any time from a smartphone, tablet or computer, by paying a minimal fee at the time of service. During the video chat or phone call, a physician will evaluate and diagnose your ailment and prescribe medications, if necessary.

“As a physician actively practicing telemedicine for the past two years, I think it is an excellent expansion of the care already being provided to our patient population,” said Marc Bingham, MD, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Chief Medical Information Officer. “This is an effective option for medical problems to be rapidly assessed by a board-certified physician through a phone or video-based visit. This is a convenient and safe way to expedite care and help patients identify when more serious concerns need to be evaluated by an in-person visit. Looking to the future, telemedicine adds another option for patients with minor health problems who are challenged by transportation or timing issues.”

When would you use MDLIVE?

You can use MDLIVE to talk to a doctor and get the care you need, when you need it.

Virtual care is convenient when: you are sick at 2 p.m., traveling, your primary care physician is not immediately available or when an urgent care is not open. You can even reach a doctor on a holiday.

What illnesses are covered?
If you’re having an emergency, such as chest pains, a broken bone or a deep wound, call 9-1-1 or go to an emergency center. But for mild injuries or illness, MDLIVE can get you the care you need.

MDLIVE cares for common illnesses and symptoms such as:

• Allergies
• Cold and flu
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Ear aches
• Fever
• Headache
• Infections
• Insect bites
• Joint aches and pains
