Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Names Associates of the Quarter

The Reward and Recognition Committee at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) selects Associates of the Quarter from nominations submitted by system associates. Four associates were selected for the quarter. Below is what coworkers said about these four:

Dodi Williams, Clinical Outcomes

Dorothy “Dodi” Williams exemplifies our healthcare system’s Standards of Behaviors and excels in everything she does. Dodi holds herself to higher standards than others and dedicates herself to being the best employee she can be. She strives not only to produce quality data, but to do it with integrity; as a result, her data is known to be accurate and effective in decision making. Dodi has nothing but respect for everyone who works in the organization. She believes whole-heartedly in the mission of SRHS.

Lori Whitlock, RN, NTICU

This past Christmas, Lori made sure that one of our NTICU Spinal Cord graduates had a great holiday. She made special trips to the hospital on her days off to assist with hair washing, painting nails, and even bought Christmas gifts for the patient and her children. One patient's oldest child took special interest in her mom's care, so Lori bought her a set of scrubs. The child would wear them while visiting her mom and pretended to be her nurse. She also bought a whiteboard so that her daughter could pretend to plan her mom's day and set goals with her. These acts of kindness are inspiring to others and also provided the patient with extra motivation to continue.

Shelby Campbell-Cook, RN, NTICU

Shelby is a great nurse and leader. She has taken new nurses under her wing and offered encouragement and guidance. When a nurse is struggling, she is there to offer help, no matter how busy she is. She always has a positive attitude about work and spends extra time making sure her patients are doing well. She takes the extra steps to think critically about situations, and offers information that others don't often consider. Her job is exemplified through excellence in care, accountability and teamwork.

Ashley Williams, NICU

Ashley helped a family get through a devastating experience by making special arrangements for the family to have privacy in our transition room. She was accommodating and delivered the utmost compassion and empathy. The patient still speaks about how Ashley was meant to be there in the family’s time of need. Ashley went above and beyond to help a patient through one of the worst moments of her life.
