They Take Care of Us 24/7: Thank Your Doctor

Spartanburg Regional Foundation Helps Patients Recognize Doctors

Cardiologist Dr. Nalin Srivastava helps you keep a close guard on your heart.

He does this by educating the Upstate community and his patients about ways to reduce the risk of cardiac disease. He works closely with heart attack victims to get them back on their feet and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Dr. Srivastava is among the many local doctors who are committed to improving patients’ health outcomes. National Doctors’ Day, an annual celebration held on March 30, is an opportunity for patients to honor these physicians. Doctors’ Day donations to Spartanburg Regional Foundation financially support patients in need, for nurses’ education, and for a wide range of innovations at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

“When a doctor helps a patient through a particularly difficult time, the patient may want to express appreciation and gratitude,” said Kristy Caradori, Executive Director of Spartanburg Regional Foundation. “Doctors’ Day is a wonderful opportunity to honor those special caretakers and say thank you.”

Dr. Srivastava described Doctors’ Day recognition as “a tremendous honor for a physician.”

“It is another reminder of the special relationship between physicians and patients,” he said. It is particularly special knowing that this gift to the Spartanburg Regional Foundation will benefit other patients and support the work of caregivers makes this a truly wonderful feeling.”

Doctors’ Day became an official day of recognition in 1991 when President George Bush signed a resolution into law that proclaimed the observance of a day honoring our country’s physicians annually.

More than 170 Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System doctors receive recognition each year.
