Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Oncology Robotic Surgery

The robotic surgery program for gynecologic oncology began in 2008 at Spartanburg Regional, where the first robotic hysterectomy for cancer was performed in South Carolina.

The traditional method of open gynecologic oncology surgery includes the use of a large incision for the treatment of different types of gynecologic cancers.  With the advent of minimally invasive robotic surgery, new surgical options are available to Spartanburg Regional patients with a smaller, less invasive approach.
