Pelham Medical Center Voted Best Hospital in the Upstate
What do you get when you combine expert medical services, compassionate care and a convenient location? The best hospital in the Upstate.
Pelham Medical Center has been voted “Best of the Upstate” by readers of The Greenville News. The annual people’s choice poll – conducted for over 25 years – identifies the region’s best people, places and service providers as determined by popular vote. More than 59 percent of the readers who cast ballots in the Best Hospital category voted for Pelham Medical Center.
“We strive, with every patient interaction, to be the best hospital in the Upstate,” said Tony Kouskolekas, president of Pelham Medical Center. “People don’t have to travel far and wide to find effective treatment because we have all the necessary services, right here at home. Our physicians, nurses and support teams are fully focused on each individual’s needs to ensure the most positive outcomes possible. This hospital was built with the patient in mind.”
Pelham Medical Center – a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System – is a multi-faceted facility complete with 24-hour emergency care services, primary physician care, full diagnostic capabilities, medical and surgical specialties, surgery and a world-class cancer center. It also comprises a health resource center filled with educational materials and a community center for support group meetings, social events and educational activities.
The facility opened in 2008 and has enjoyed increasing popularity ever since. Pelham Medical Center’s emergency services department, for example, has seen exponential growth in admissions for medical crises big and small, due to a combination of high customer satisfaction scores and low wait times.
“Pelham Medical Center provides the expertise you expect – and the compassion you deserve – all in one convenient location,” Kouskolekas said. “People have a choice of where to receive health care and we are honored this community considers us their best option.”
