Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Announces Hospital Name Change

New Name Reflects Comprehensive Services

Pelham Medical Center LogoGreer, SC – Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System announced Monday morning that Village Hospital has a new name: Pelham Medical Center.

Village Hospital has grown, with the addition of new services including the Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute and the physicians of the Medical Group of the Carolinas. As a result, the hospital name is being changed to better unify all of the programs and services now available on this campus.

“As a part of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, this campus is a part of larger system. When we work as a team, we’re able to provide a full spectrum of services to our patients, not just in Greer, but also across the Upstate,” said Anthony Kouskolekas, President of Pelham Medical Center.

“This name change represents our confidence looking forward to advancing the future of health and wellness services in our region. Pelham Medical Center is committed to caring for the health of the people in this community; we are also here when additional capabilities are needed, ensuring seamless transitions from one point of care to the next,” said Mark Aycock, Chief Operating Officer of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. “We are dedicated to providing all of our patients with the absolute best in quality care.”

Pelham Medical Center’s name change is just one way Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is making patient-centered decisions to help consumers understand their healthcare options.

Also under the umbrella of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and sharing the same vision of delivering excellent quality care is Spartanburg Medical Center, a 540-bed facility located in Spartanburg. Both medical centers work together as one team, collaborating to give consumers broader access to specialties such as orthopaedics, cardiology, imaging and oncology; to improve coordination of care; and to make health care more convenient for patients.
