Separate serum or plasma. Specify if patient was upright or supine during collection.

Additional Information

 

Evaluate patients with hypertension and possible hyperaldosteronism.

Patient Preparation

 

No isotopes administered 24 hours prior to venipuncture. Recommended that patient be ambulatory for at least 30 minutes prior to collection-patient posture can affect aldosterone levels.

Specimen Processing Instructions

 

Separate serum or plasma and aliquot in plastic tube.
