Quality and Innovation in Heart Care

The Spartanburg Regional Heart Center is a five-story facility on the campus of Spartanburg Medical Center, designed for and dedicated exclusively to heart care. Here are a few examples of our leadership in the latest heart treatments and services, right here in our community:

  • We were the first hospital in North or South Carolina to earn full accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI with Resuscitation by the American College of Cardiology’s Accreditation Services.
  • We were among the first hospitals in South Carolina to use a brain-saving cooling therapy for patients experiencing cardiac arrest.
  • We were the first certified Primary Stroke Center in South Carolina.
  • We were the first hospital in South Carolina and third in the entire country to perform computer-guided “beating-heart surgery,” an open-heart surgery on a still-beating heart.
  • We are home to the Heart Wellness Cardiac Rehab program, the only cardiac rehab program in Spartanburg.
