Specimen Processing Instructions

Centrifuge at 3380 rpm’s (±100) for 5 minutes

Freeze Plasma in Plastic Tubes

Transport Requirements

Refrigerated if within 4 hours or Frozen if longer.

Specimen Stability

Refrigerated Whole Blood: 4 hours;   Frozen Plasma: 1 month 

Rejection Criteria

•  Clotted Sample
•  Insufficient volume
•  Hemolyzed Plasma

Reference Range

Factor IX = 66 – 147 % activity
