G6PDH; G6PD, Quantitative, blood; G6PD, Blood and RBC
Lavender top(EDTA)tube (2) or 1 lavender top tube and 1 yellow-top (ACD)
Two lavender tubes
Volume: 8 ml.(4 ml in each of two tubes) Min. volume: 2 tubes must be filled to at least 50% of tube capacity.
Evaluate G6PD deficiency; Levels of G6PD are higher in newborns than adults.
Specimen Processing Instructions
Whole blood, do not centrifuge
Refrigerated : 7 days for G6PD 72 hours for RBC's
Clotted specimen; hemolysis; frozen specimen; specimen > 72 hours old ; serum or plasma; quantity not sufficient; specimens with other anticoagulant than EDTA.
