Collection Instructions

Two lavender tubes

Volume

Volume: 8 ml. (4 ml in each of two tubes) 

Min. volume: 2 tubes must be filled to at least 50% of tube capacity.

Evaluate G6PD deficiency; Levels of G6PD are higher in newborns than adults.

Refrigerated : 7 days for G6PD 72 hours for RBC's 

Rejection Criteria

Clotted specimen; hemolysis; frozen specimen; specimen > 72 hours old ; serum or plasma; quantity not sufficient; specimens with other anticoagulant than EDTA.
