Additional Information

Evaluates the normalcy of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Also,helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility in women.

Patient Preparation

It is recommended to ask all patients who may be indicated for this test about biotin supplementation. Patients should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.

Specimen Processing Instructions

 Once in the lab,separate serum from cells if using red-top tube
