WBC Stool, Lactoferrin, Fecal WBC, Fecal Polys, Fecal Leukocytes
Clean leak proof container
Liquid stools ( preferred) or semi-solid feces in clean leak proof container
Do not submit specimens in preservatives or fixatives
Specimen Processing Instructions
Refrigerate:Deliver to lab as soon as possible
Up to 2 weeks refrigerate ( 2-8 deg C). Gretaer than 2 weeks freeze at -20 deg C
Contaminated specimens with urine, barium. Fecal swabs. Stools in preservatives or fixatives.
Detection of elevated levels of lactoferrin in stool.
Daily ( 1st and 2nd shift)
