Pediatric Rehabilitation

Pediatric Rehabilitation is provided by a multidisciplinary team of experienced therapists who specialize in evaluation and treatment of individuals from birth to 21 years of age.  Our team consists of occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists with advanced pediatric training. We provide a high quality continuum of care for all children and their families.

Occupational Therapy Services

  • Enhance visual motor control to improve fine motor coordination 
  • Facilitate age-appropriate fine motor skills
  • Improve pre-writing and handwriting skills
  • Promote age-appropriate self-care skills including: dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding and toileting
  • Enhance age-appropriate instrumental activities of daily living skills including: simple meal prep, etc.
  • Promote self-regulatory behavior and organization including attention and adaptive behaviors
  • Facilitate neuromuscular re-education, range of motion and overall strength
  • Train and educate in use of adaptive equipment
  • Recommend, modify, or fabricate upper extremity splints as appropriate
  • Enable children to participate in meaningful and purposeful activities for functional independence
  • Recommend, modify or enhance environment for maximum independent access
  • Recommend or adapt tasks, toys, or other items for maximum individual access and participation

Physical Therapy Services

  • Facilitate age-appropriate gross motor skills 
  • Provide gait training
  • Enhance balance and coordination to increase independent movement 
  • Provide neuromuscular re-education, range of motion and strength training for lower extremities
  • Assess, train and educate patients for orthotics, prosthetics and adaptive equipment

Speech-Language Pathology Services

  • Facilitate receptive, expressive and pragmatic language skill development
  • Improve articulation and phonological deficits
  • Enhance voice and fluency functions of speech 
  • Facilitate improved cognition
  • Treat auditory processing and hearing impairments
  • Access forms of augmentative communication
  • Provide comprehensive feeding and swallowing evaluation and treatment
  • Address oral motor and oral sensory deficits
