“We look beyond the physical to the spiritual, social and financial impact of illness. We care for the whole patient.”

Cheri Freeman, LMSW

Spartanburg Regional Hospice owns and operates a special hospital, specifically for our hospice patients. The 15-bed inpatient facility is fully staffed 24/7 and offers multiple levels of care, including:

  • General Inpatient Care is provided for pain control or other acute symptom management that cannot feasibly be provided in any other setting.
  • Respite Care is available to provide temporary relief to the patient’s primary caregiver.

SHPBestSuperior Performer

Spartanburg Regional Hospice received the SHPBestSuperior Performer Award in 2016 and 2017.

The annual SHPBest™ program was created to acknowledge hospice providers that consistently provide high-quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care. With one of the largest Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice benchmarks in the nation, SHP identifies and recognizes organizations that have made family and caregiver satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the CAHPS Hospice survey.

SHPBest award recipients are determined by ranking the overall score for all SHP CAHPS Hospice clients. Providers that rank in the top 20 percent receive the Superior Performer award.
