Collection Instructions

Must have both tubes, collect Mon. - Friday only. Invert tubes 8-10 times after collection.

Volume

Volume: 7 ml. whole blood for each tube 
Min. volume: 5 ml. whole blood for each tube

Additional Information

HIV-1 infection results in decrease of CD4 t cells and increase CD8 T cells, a decrease in the CD4/CD8 ratio and progressive destruction of immune function.  In HIV1 seropositive  pts, CD4 T cells may be used to monitor disease.

Contaminated specimen; refrigerated or frozen specimen, clotted specimen; both tubes not received; hemolysis
