Tissue specimens should be delivered as soon as possible.

Rejection Criteria

• Stability exceeded 
• Unacceptable specimens sources for anaerobic culture
• Improper labeling or identification of specimen
• Specimens placed in formalin cannot be processed for cultures
• Multiple specimen from same site w/o specific designation may be pooled.

Reference Range

No aerobic or anaerobic growth. Normal flora
