Additional Information

What are your favorite hobbies?

"I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, camping, traveling, and attending live concerts."

Describe your care philosophy:

"I describe myself as my patients’ copilot when it comes to their health.  I strive to educate patients about both illness and wellness.  I see it as my role to help patients navigate through the oftentimes conflicting information that they may receive elsewhere.  Healthcare is constantly evolving and new recommendations, tests, and medications are introduced every day.  Just because something is new does not always mean that it is better; I try to help patients see the risk/benefit relationship that is inherent in every test and every drug.

"I am also a huge proponent of preventive care.  Preventive care is critical; it is important to identify and treat chronic diseases early in order to avoid long-term complications.  To borrow an old saying, 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.'  It is for this reason that I encourage every patient to receive all scheduled and yearly vaccinations."

What do you say to your patients to inspire them to strive for a healthier life?

"I encourage patients to exercise, eat a healthy diet, get enough sleep, and focus on long-term wellness."

How many years have you been practicing medicine?

"I have been practicing medicine for 5 years."

Why did you pursue a career in medicine?

"I wanted to pursue a career in medicine to try to effect real change in people’s lives.  Being able to change someone’s life in a positive way is extremely rewarding."
