Dr. Ellison received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Ellison is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Ellison serves on the medical staff for Pelham Medical Center. He is the founding partner of Internal Medicine of Greer and opened the practice in 1986.

Why does Dr. Ellison love to practice medicine? “I love the research side of medicine. I’ve been doing it for a long time. It’s fun. I’ve been working on some cutting-edge Alzheimer’s research that is very exciting. There’s big things coming, but it may be 20 or 30 years before they come to fruition.”
Why did Dr. Ellison pursue a career in medicine? “There was only one family medicine doctor in Due West, S.C., where I grew up. I always admired him, and he inspired me to become a physician.”
He is a member of the Spartanburg Medical Society, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
