The Transitional Year Residency Program at Spartanburg Regional is intended to be as flexible as possible in order to accommodate individual needs and interests.

  • Medicine conference every Thursday (must attend 80%)
  • TY Meetings every other month

  • Four Blocks
    • Inpatient Internal Medicine
  • One Block
    • Emergency Medicine
  • One Block
    • Night Float
  • One Block
    • Ambulatory Pediatrics

Selectives

Choose two blocks from the following:

  • Critical Care Surgery
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • OB/GYN
  • Pediatrics
  • Peds ICU/Clinic

Electives

Choose four blocks from the following:

  • Anesthesiology
  • Dermatology
  • ENT
  • General Inpatient Surgery
  • Internal Medicine Subspecialties
  • Neurosurgery
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopaedics
  • Outpatient Family Medicine
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Radiation Oncology
  • Radiology
    • May not be taken by those scheduled to do a radiology residency
  • Surgery Subspecialties
  • Vascular Surgery

Rotations listed under Required & Selectives may also be taken as electives.
