"In addition to being an excellent institution, the culture of Spartanburg Regional is what makes it a unique place to train. The residency program and academic attending physicians are incredibly supportive - going above and beyond to make sure we learn internal medicine, but also provide us with the flexibility to participate in important family and social events. Spartanburg is also a great place to live. It's close to the mountains, Charlotte and a few hours from the beach. Many of us have taken advantage of weekend trips to these locations as well as working out at the Spartanburg Athletic Club and playing golf at the Carolina Country Club. These are just a few perks of training at Spartanburg Regional."

"The Spartanburg TY program's reputation precedes it as an excellent institution to train and provide the important foundation in medicine we will need in our future specialty training programs. The attending physicians are knowledgeable and friendly, providing a learning environment where we are challenged to learn but well supported. I have enjoyed exploring the upstate and surrounding mountains, spending my free time hiking, horseback riding and learning to fly fish."

Spartanburg offers the feel of a small town, family friendly environment with the conveniences of larger cities such as Asheville, Charlotte, and Greenville close by. The work environment is friendly, supportive, and conducive to ample learning."

"When applying, I was looking for a TY program that blended a solid medicine education with the flexibility to do electives that will also be beneficial in my career. Here at SRHS, the curriculum allows for just that.  After having been here for 3 months, I can say with confidence that this is a great program. The faculty, other residents, and administration all make it a collegial environment conducive to learning."

"Spartanburg is my hometown, so it's nice to spend my intern year in a familiar place.  Spartanburg is a great town for young families. The Spartanburg TY has a long-standing reputation of being the most sought after PGY-1 year, and it has lived up to expectations every day during my time here.  We receive great training in internal medicine and have lots of opportunity to explore different specialties during out elective blocks. The perks of the program are great, allowing for recreation at Spartanburg Athletic Club and golf at Carolina Country Club for all those interested.  Sparkle City is also just a short drive away from many nice vacation spots from mountains to the coast which makes it almost effortless to enjoy time off."
