Container

4.0 ml Gold-top serum separator

Collection Instructions

None

Volume

2 ml serum, minimum 0.5 ml

Additional Information

Studies suggest that storing Progesterone samples in separator tubes (SST) can affect progesterone results.  Progesterone samples collected in SST tubes should be tested within 24 hours.
(See below for Specimen Stability up to 72 hours.)

Heterophilic antibodies in human serum can react with reagent immunoglobulins, interfering with in vitro immunoassays.  Patients routinely exposed to animals or to animal serum products can be prone to this interference and anomalous values may be observed.
