Gastrointestinal Cancer Program

Gastrointestinal Cancer Program

The gastrointestinal (GI) system includes all the digestive organs. These include esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, appendix, rectum, and anal canal. Other organs that assist with digestion are also included in this category, such as liver, pancreas, and gall bladder. The Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute offers services to assess your GI cancer risk, screening for certain GI cancers, and when diagnosed with a GI cancer navigate you through treatment and recovery. Our team of highly trained and skilled medical professionals provides you the most comprehensive cancer treatments possible.

When diagnosed with GI cancer, your information will be presented during our weekly multidisciplinary planning conference. Our philosophy is that “two heads are better than one.” It is important that physicians of different specialties discuss and analyze your case to develop the best possible treatment options for you. Your pathology and imaging studies will be examined and discussed. Having your treatment options developed by our expert team ensures your best outcome. This comprehensive review is at no additional cost to you—this is the Gibbs difference that sets us apart from the rest.
