Junior Volunteer Program

Junior Volunteer Program

Each summer (June – July) we offer the opportunity for teens, ages 15-18, to join our junior volunteer program. Junior volunteers will rotate in various departments to assist staff with non-clinical functions such as distributing blankets, water or ice, stocking unit/floor, delivering mail or flowers, performing administrative duties, or assisting customers in the gift shop.

Applications are accepted between January 1-February 1 of each year. Students must have an overall "B" average for the respective school year to apply. The program is Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Students are required to participate in a minimum of 4 hours per week from June 17 until July 26.

Upon receiving the completed application, reference checks will be performed and an interview will be scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator. Selected students will complete a health screening to include drug screening, vaccinations and tuberculosis screening performed by our Employee Health department.

Students who successfully complete health screening requirements will attend a mandatory Junior Volunteer orientation prior to June 17 to learn more about their role and to meet volunteer educational and safety requirements. To apply, please email Sherry Winstead, Volunteer Coordinator, at swinstead2@srhs.com.

Only 10 students are selected each summer, so apply today!
