About

Joint replacement surgery, also known as arthroplasty joint replacement, removes an arthritic or damaged joint and replaces it with artificial parts, which function as a healthy joint.

Our joint replacement team offers surgical expertise in:

  • Total hip replacement
  • Total knee replacement
  • Total shoulder replacement
  • Partial joint replacement, or removal of only the damaged tissue and bone

As experts in the field of joint replacement surgery, we use the latest technological advancements in joint replacement and joint preservation. When nonsurgical treatments have failed, joint replacement surgery aims to eliminate joint pain and restore range of motion.

We know that having joint replacement surgery can be a life-changing decision. However, choosing where to have your surgery is just as important because the success of your surgery and recovery depends on the quality of your care. Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s joint replacement team provides every patient with a world-class experience and a patient-centered approach.

Our goal is to get our patients back to work, school and the activities they enjoy more quickly than ever before.

Your Joint Care Starts Before Surgery

Your Joint Care Starts Before Surgery

All joint replacement patients are required to attend a comprehensive education program, known as the Joint Camp. This class provides information about every phase of the joint replacement journey, from the first appointment through recovery and rehabilitation. Topics include what needs to be done during the weeks and days before surgery, what will happen at the hospital, how pain will be managed, discharge options, education for a safe recovery, and much more.

If you are having joint replacement surgery, you are one of the most important members of your own healthcare team, and the Joint Camp was created to assist you in this role.

The Joint Camp video series and the Joint Patient Guide are important tools that are to be used throughout your joint replacement journey.
