  • In 2023, Spartanburg Medical Center was recognized with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association's Get with the Guidelines - Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award.
  • Spartanburg Medical Center was the top-ranked hospital in Upstate South Carolina in 2022, according to U.S. News & World Report.
  • In 2023, Pelham Medical Center was the first hospital in the Carolinas to become an Orthopedic Center of Excellence – a DNV designation that recognizes an organization as a demonstrated leader in the safe delivery of orthopedic services.
  • Pelham Medical Center achieved the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award for three years in a row (2021-2023) and was named among the top 5% in the nation for outstanding patient experience in 2022 and 2023.
  • In 2023, Healthgrades named Spartanburg Medical Center a Five-Star Recipient for Peripheral Vascular Bypass.

  • Spartanburg Medical Center has been named a Five-Star Recipient for Carotid Procedures by Healthgrades every year since 2016.
  • Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has received a CDC Full Plus Recognition for its National Diabetes Prevention lifestyle change program since 2022.
  • In 2022, Spartanburg Medical Center – Mary Black Campus became accredited by DNV as a Hip and Knee Replacement Center.

  • Spartanburg Medical Center became certified as a Primary Stroke Center by DNV in 2016.
  • Pelham Medical Center was chosen by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 companies and organizations named The Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
  • Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care’s Skilled Nursing Facility was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high performing in short-term rehabilitation, receiving an overall rating of 5 out of 5 in 2022.
  • Pelham Medical Center was accredited for spine surgery and hip and knee replacement by DNV in 2021.
  • Spartanburg Medical Center campuses have fully accredited sleep centers through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
  • The Medical Group of the Carolinas has 17 practices considered Patient-Centered Medical Homes through the National Committee for Quality Assurance as of 2023.
  • In 2023, Pelham Medical Center was recognized as high performing in back surgery (spinal fusion), COPD, hip replacement and kidney failure by U.S. News and World Report.
  • In 2023, Spartanburg Medical Center was named Best Regional Hospital in Upstate South Carolina, according to U.S. News & World Report.
  • In 2023, U. S. News & World Report recognized Spartanburg Medical Center as high performing in COPD; colon cancer surgery; heart attack; heart bypass surgery; knee replacement; leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; lung cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and stroke.
