Hematology/Oncology Rotation

Duration: 4 week rotation
Course Offered: Throughout the year

This rotation is intended to provide a general overview and experience with adult hematology and oncology patients. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences are provided to students however the majority of time is in the outpatient setting. Students should anticipate having a better understanding of the general approach to the evaluation and management of adult cancers and common hematologic problems; exposure to patients with terminal conditions and improved communication skills discussing end of life care.
