"I take great pride in being a graduate of this program. I have experienced first-hand what it is like to be a resident in the program and I understand and relate to residents concerns and day-to-day ups and downs. It has helped me to be a better teacher. I care about each and every one of our residents, and enjoy being surrounded by them and helping them grow as physicians and as persons. I love all aspects of family medicine - especially women's health and pediatrics. I believe our united goal as faculty in this program is to provide education that shapes residents into becoming competent physicians, who care about their patients and communities. It gives me great satisfaction to be part of this process."

After finishing medical school in Loma Linda, California and doing my residency in Orlando, Florida, I practiced rural medicine in West Virginia for three years. Then I got my Preventive Medicine degree in Maryland. Since than I have been teaching at the best Family Medicine Residency Program in the southeast, Spartanburg! I was Family Medicine Department Chairman for 5 years and can say without a doubt this is a very supportive hospital for medical education. I am raising three daughters here in Spartanburg and am proud to be associated with this great family medicine residency."

"One of the biggest draws of the family medicine program is the well-rounded education that our residents can obtain. The hospital system offers a wide variety of experiences for the residents to partake in and enables them to choose their own career path after residency. This was the reason I chose to come here for my own training, and when looking to get into the medical education side of the field, I realized that I wanted to be part of a system that really sets up the residents to succeed."

It brings me so much joy to watch our residents learn and grow in their skills and confidence during the three years that they share with us."

I trained at Spartanburg Region and after 10 years of being away, I am thrilled to be back and bring some things I learned along the way. I love all aspects of medicine from the personal interactions to critically appraising the most recent medical literature. My goal is to foster each learner to become the best version of their self and find the joys in medicine.

Spartanburg Regional is a tremendous healthcare system with an incredible sense of community. The diverse patient population, volume, and pathology along with amazing faculty make this a top-notch program, and I am thrilled to be a part of it."
