Why Spartanburg Regional? I chose Spartanburg Regional because of the program’s diverse pathology, early operative experience, and camaraderie amongst residents and attendings. Why Spartanburg Regional? When I started looking for programs, I knew I wanted a program that would expose me to as much as possible so I could graduate and feel comfortable operating day one post-residency. Throughout my time rotating at Spartanburg Regional, it was obvious that the residents were well trained and comfortable in the OR. They also work together as one big family. I could not ask for a better group to learn from, and work with, over the next five years. Plus, my wife and our dog really like Spartanburg.

Professional Interests: Cardiothoracic Surgery, Trauma
Hometown: Leawood, KS
Hobbies: Mountain biking, exercising, cooking

Why Spartanburg Regional? I chose Spartanburg Regional because of the high surgical volume, lack of fellows, and the incredible culture. I had the pleasure to work with a graduate of the program while in medical school and was blown away when meeting the current residents during the interview cycle.
