Level I Trauma Center
Don't Meet Us by Accident
Did you know traumatic injuries, including falls and traffic-related injuries, are the number-one cause of death and disability in people younger than 44? Up to 25 percent of these deaths could be prevented if patients receive care at a Level I Trauma Center, according to research published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Spartanburg Medical Center, a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, is proud to be the only Level I Trauma Center in Spartanburg. Level I Trauma Centers demonstrate the highest quality of care, offering comprehensive treatment for all injuries — from surgery through rehabilitation. Level I Trauma Centers must also meet strict standards to prove preparedness to care for any injury.

We participate in injury research, have trauma surgeons and staff available to provide treatment around the clock and use quality assessments to improve continually.
