About Diabetes Education

About Diabetes Education

Diabetes education specialists teach patients a variety of effective coping and blood glucose management skills designed to address the disease's daily challenges.

Diabetes education reduces the risks for complications, decreases costs by reducing or eliminating the need for medications and emergency room visits and helps patients find and access cost-savings programs.

Diabetes care and education specialists work with patients to develop a personalized management plan that fits their lifestyle, beliefs and culture. They help patients understand how to use devices like meters, insulin pens, pumps and continuous glucose monitors to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
